Introducing the Love Your Selftember Challenge! Yes, that’s right. I’m starting a month-long self love and care challenge – on the fourth day of September. Because traveling and school prep and sickness and everything. Just go with it, okay? 😉
Since turning 30 just a month ago, I am realizing how exhausting certain patterns of my life have been. Things like comparing myself to others, disliking the person in the mirror, and wishing for a different situation or personality. More often than not, I am unhappy with myself. It’s sad, and really a waste.
So I put together this challenge to work on my perspective some. There is a lot of focus on self-care these days, and I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel. But I’m trying to look at wellness as a whole – more than just lifting my spirits. I’m trying to recognize God’s abundance in my life. I’m looking at all the things I have to be grateful for, and embracing my unique personality, talents, circumstances, and relationships. All the things that make me, me.
Finally, I would love to invite you to take part in this challenge too. But don’t worry – it’s a grace-filled one. (I mean, seeing as I’m starting it late to begin with.) It doesn’t have deadlines, it’s not a lot to add to your plate, and you can choose what works for you and what doesn’t. I’ll be sharing right along with you as we go. My hope is that others will find lots to love about themselves through this challenge too.
