It’s almost the end of the year, and today we are sharing about an accessory. It’s the first in this style series! And it changes up the game a little bit.
If you’re just joining us: Anne of In Residence and I are on a mission to show that mom style can be both fashionable and functional. And it doesn’t take a lot of expensive clothes to do it! This is a link-up challenge to moms and non-moms alike. We choose one article of clothing (and now accessory) a month to remix a few different ways.
So this month we are talking tote bags! Totes are a style staple for a lot of reasons, and especially for moms. A tote is great for everyday wear, and for being on the go. But they’re also cute, casual, and collectible. Also a great bonus for moms is that they fit everything. I’ve been so looking forward to pulling out this $5 charcoal felt Target tote just for this post.
Before I share my favorite fall outfit combos with it, let me just tell you how laughably hard it was to get these pictures. We’re talking wrangling my non-napping toddler, struggling to get in and out of the clothes, cankles plus boots. The things I do for you guys.
Anyways, here goes:
Cardigan + blouse + jeans
Sweater + scarf + jeans
Cardigan + long-sleeved shirt + pencil skirt
There are also a lot of other great options out there now. I’ve included them below, but my high-end choice in totes would have to be the Madewell Transport Tote. (Maybe someday, she sighs to herself.) Here are the others I found, at different price points:
Your turn! Share your best remixes using tote bags on your blog (can be fresh pics or older ones too!), then link up below.
Please adhere to these guidelines to be a great team player 🙂
- Please link back to Anne and me in your posts.
- Link up only posts on the theme that show an item remixed 2-3 ways.
- Use the hashtag #momstyleremix if you share on social media (though you most certainly don’t have to be a mom to participate!)
- Visit/comment on some other posts for inspiration and encouragement.
