It goes against reason, since I’ve never been a morning person and I have a two-month old (!), but lately I’ve been enjoying my early mornings.
Luckily our little guy started sleeping through the night at six weeks. It was like a switch turned. All of a sudden, he conked out for 7-9 hours a night. Total bliss after sleep deprivation.
Even so, there are times we’re up late with him, there’s an occasional night he’ll escape his swaddle and be up at 3am, and he always has to eat around 6, or 7 at the latest.
But lately instead of falling back asleep, I’ve been taking advantage of the couple hours while he snoozes before he has to eat again. It’s lovely to see the sun rise, to do some exercise, to get a cup of coffee and a bowl of oatmeal, and to read some scriptures for the day. It’s my peaceful time.
What’s your peaceful time of day? What do you do in your alone time?
