As a mom and blogger, I love the connections I make through Instagram. It is a great place to share the good, the bad, the beautiful, and the ugly. I love being able to say, “you too??” as I scroll through my feed and come across another mom dealing with growth spurts, teething, and tantrums. It’s a way to bond and relate.
There are big name bloggers I follow there, sure. But it’s been more fun meeting and interacting with mamas like me. You know – the ones that share the pretty pictures, but also the real ones. The Target dressing room photos. The toddler with food all over his face.

How does one find like-minded mamas? Hashtags are the best way. Both using them in your posts and searching them to find other mamas. I’ve put together some of my favorite ones, in case you’re stuck.
Also – these are ones with 200,000 posts or less. (Not the huge ones like #momlife or #momlifeisthebestlife.) Ones with posts over that number tend to be wayyy over-populated. If you’re looking to get more of your posts out there, I recommend using hashtags with a lower number of posts. That way, you have a fighting chance of being put in the top ten, and being seen by more moms.
#momunity – I’m cheating, because I started this hashtag. For a while I was doing month-long photo challenges through it! And I connected to a lot of cool mamas that way. (BTW, is anyone interested in me starting that up again? Lemme know in the comments below.)
#inspirationintheeveryday – A hashtag by my friend Gina!
