And here we are in April. While exhaustion is still a constant, and we’re busier than ever, we’re also starting to enjoy our new normal around here. I’m coming out of the baby fog, and feeling more like myself again. Finally. It feels good.
Thanks for bearing with me as I figure out what posting looks like. My new series on Instagram Stories, for example, isn’t getting a lot of air time. Every day is different and busy, and I’m still trying to strike the balance between family and work. And family comes first. But again, thanks for hanging in there.
Anyway, today, just for fun, I’m sharing some of my recent favorites. My last one was from when I was pregnant (!!) so I think it’s time.
People: My Family
Aww, cheesy moment. But it’s true. We were driving home from visiting family, and I just realized how completely content I am. No, every day is not perfect, and there are still times I want to pull my hair out. But I am so grateful these three guys are mine.
Piece of Clothing: Gray Duster Cardigan
I keep seeing long cardigans everywhere, so when I found one in gray (my favorite color – at least to wear), I snatched it up. Luckily for me, it was from my BFF’s LuLaRoe shop, so I got to support her (and another friend who was hosting a party), and try out this fun style. I have an upcoming post on how to wear it, because it’s surprising how much you can wear it with. (But for ideas before then, check out my Pinterest board.)
Since going dairy-free, all the baby weight has disappeared (yep, all of it), and my baby struggles with fewer tummy troubles. But I can still get dairy cravings, along with a strong desire for sugary snacks. I’m a new fan of Larabars. I think when I first tried them, I compared them to my favorite version (with dairy), and wasn’t impressed. But after trying them again, I am a huge fan. They have all different flavors, and are made of fruit and nuts, so they give lots of energy. In addition to being dairy free (yes, even the chocolate ones), they’re also vegan, gluten free, and kosher. This flavor is my favorite.
Jewelry: Leather Earrings
Holy game-changer, Batman! There is just something amazing and entirely lovable about earrings that don’t weigh your ears (or your head) down. (And all the mamas rejoice with me.) Plus they are pretty. AHA Crafted recently surprised me with their Denim Daze small teardrop earrings. And from the moment I put them on, it was love. I foresee wearing these earrings in their lovely shade of blue with lots of different outfits. (Thank you to my friend Heidi at Aha Crafted for sending these for me to try!!)
Cup: Starbucks Cold Cup
I know I have to be serious about drinking water while I’m pumping for baby, but I have such a hard time. It helps to have a gigantic container with a straw to constantly sip on. Starbucks to the rescue! Loving my stainless steel cold cup that actually keeps the water cold. Plus mine is 30 ounces, so multiply times three, and that’s all the water I need in a day.
Car: Honda Pilot
There comes a time in every parent’s life where they have to reassess things. Like their cars. Earlier this year, we decided that our cars were causing back issues because of all the contortion to get the kids into the seats. Plus one of us (re: me) had to endure a road trip squished in the front to make room for the baby’s car seat in the back. So I was all in favor of a new vehicle. And this thing is awesome. I am so happy to have a spacious mom car that’s a tank on the road. We won’t talk about the other tank (the gas one), but even that hasn’t been too harsh on the wallet. SUVs are the new minivans.
That’s all for now! What are you loving lately?
