Growing up, I remember getting new clothes just for Easter. We went to church every Sunday, but of course, Easter was special. Time for pastels, florals, jelly sandals, if the weather was warm. I can almost feel the grass brushing my feet and a cool breeze, while holding a basket while searching for eggs full of candy.
I want my kids to have similar memories to the ones I have. I can’t wait to help them decorate Easter eggs, and hunt them later. I want to see their faces light up when they find a chocolate bunny in a basket in the morning. I want them to spot colorful spring flowers and blooming trees. Easter will hopefully have more meaning for them when they are older, but it’s the little things for now, while they’re little.
But before the Easter egg hunt comes the hunt for perfect spring outfits. It’s a stereotype that girls are more fun to dress up than boys, but I totally disagree. I love picking out clothes for my boys! The little ties, the shoes, the dress shirts – it doesn’t get any cuter than that.
This year we chose outfits from Carter’s. They have the most adorable options for baby clothes, and stylish (but cute) toddler clothes as well. I love that they have easy picks like rompers and ready-made outfits, or pick out your own Easter style with eyelet dresses and crisp oxfords.
We picked out a suspenders outfit for Nolan, and a button-up shirt and khaki combo for Theo. I also opted for a sweater for him, in case the weather is just as fickle at Easter time as it is now. The best part? We got all of these for about $50. I’m glad we’ll be able to mix and match them throughout spring.
Can I just have a mama moment here? My heart absolutely melts seeing these two interact, and there’s just something about it when they’re both all dressed up. It was about this time last year that we found out that we were pregnant with Nolan, and I can’t believe how life has changed so much in a year.
I’m looking forward to summer, too. We’ll hopefully be going camping and visiting the beach, our first vacations as a family of four. Carter’s is a great place to stock up on bright polos, fun graphic tees, and shorts. Getting ready for the beach? They have swimsuits and trunks, plus rash guards, all with SPF 50+. (Don’t forget the shoes.)
