When I think about things to do during the holiday season, there are certain things that come to mind first. You know what I mean: present shopping, decorating, holiday parties, and making yummy food. Then there’s dreaming and scheming for the New Year. And let’s not forget the everyday tasks we take care of anyway. It’s just a busy time, regardless of what’s on your to-do list.
There is one thing that might possibly slip your mind, but is a crucial task for the coming year. It’s making sure you have the right healthcare plan. I know, it’s one of those things no one likes to think about or prepare for, but it always becomes necessary, especially with a family.
Within the past three years, I have been pregnant twice. Let’s talk about what you need when it comes to having a baby: countless tests, a few (recommended) vaccines, regular appointments and ultrasounds. That’s before you are even go into labor, and doesn’t factor in any major health scares or issues. (Much as I hope you don’t have them!)

And then there’s having a toddler. We are so fortunate to not have too many sicknesses or scares, but they do happen. With a solid health plan, we don’t have any financial trouble when it comes to visiting the doctor.
All of our experiences, even within the past few years, prove to me that health insurance brings peace of mind and financial protection. But to be honest the difficulty of navigating things like health insurance can quickly turn my brain off.
Luckily, insurers like Anthem Blue Cross and Application Assistants, Navigators and brokers locally can help you get the information you need to make a choice that is right for your family.
