A younger version of myself is triple-dog-daring me to do this post.
I will be the first to tell you I am not a fashion blogger. I do like style, and I like reading other blogs with posts on style. But it’s more than pretty pictures and outfits. I think it takes courage to post pictures of yourself and share your personal style. Not everyone will like it, or appreciate it or agree with it. I want to be brave like that.
Also, I’m not too comfortable with my body image right now. I’m still trying to get back to my pre-baby weight, and I don’t feel great about how I look just yet. Knowing I have that reservation makes me feel like I need to share all the more. I hate, HATE letting insecurity hold me back, especially a fear of what I look like. That’s just silly.
So here we are! This is my go-to outfit this summer. While I wear more skirts and dresses now than I used to, I’m still more of a shirt and shorts kind of girl. This looks a little more dressy than t-shirts, and is a little stylish even just for spending the day at home (re: not yoga pants). It’s easy and classic. And falls under the category of “mom style”. I’m okay with that.
And I cannot tell you how many compliments I get on these:
Definitely my favorite sandals…ever. (Sold out on Target.com, I’m afraid, but here’s a similar pair.)
